Location:
Market Insight is based in Palo Alto, CA.  However, individuals working from remote locations will be seriously considered.

 

Position Description:

Responsibilities
Market Insight Corporation seeks a Market Intelligence Analyst/Modeler to support and extend its market intelligence products. 
This role calls for a combination of strong technical skills and practical experience.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a complete understanding of Market Insight market intelligence products and web-based
    software tools
  • Recommending and implementing statistical analyses of MPA consumer data
  • Using MPA tools to assemble and validate consumer-based market simulations
  • Investigating and developing mathematical models that extend Market Insight’s core market
    intelligence tools
  • Implementing and testing these models in a high-level modeling language
  • Assisting in the design of the attribute-based questions appearing on MPA
  • Conducting analyses that generate market intelligence on product pricing, portfolio management,
    brand equity, competitive assessments, and target markets
  • Interfacing proactively with other members of the Market Insight team 

Skills/Experience:

  • Excellent technical and problem solving skills
  • 4+ years of analytical work experience in a quantitative role--especially involving market
    research/market intelligence
  • Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant discipline such as mathematics, statistics,
    operations research, econometrics, or marketing science
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience with mathematical modeling, multivariate statistics,
    mathematical optimization, and applied data analysis
  • Knowledge of quantitative market research methods including research design and
    consumer choice models (such as the multinomial logit model) preferred
  • Working knowledge of a high-level modeling language such as R.  Experience programming
    with software languages such as Java a plus.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, especially with technical concepts
  • Experience maintaining productive client relationships a plus
  • Interest, background, or expertise in autos or consumer electronics a plus
